So guys currently researching undergrad programmes that suit my interests and also will give me a fairly good monetary return,i'm in a lucky position where i work we can shadow and gain experience in UX etc
however a work colleague is under the impression a Bsc CIS (Bachelor of Science major in computing and info systems) is worthless as its pretty much outsourced these days anyways and the ability to find jobs afterwards is very limited.
Would you find validity in that statement,is the outlook bleak with the above degree or is he full of misinformed ****e?
    Thanks everyone for your advice!

So what exactly does he believe is outsourced? Actually no matter what it is, it's outsourced to someone. That someone could be you.

I don't know what's exactly involved in the course you're looking at, or how long it is. Is UX a part of the course (research or design or both) or are you using this as a route to a further course in future?

Looking at that course syllabus, it doesn't appear to have a lot of UX or HCI. Are you planning on moving to Canada or doing that course as a distance learning thing? Most of the UX folk I know have actually gone to the Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology although I believe it's really difficult to get in there.

What do you hope to do with ux? Research or design?

    Both in fact

But neither are part of the course you're looking at.
