bathroom wall PVC cladding question

    Hello,

I'm getting Grossfillex Exapan interlocking panels for bathroom wall cladding.

The bathroom does not have a bath. It has a shower and a washbasin.

In the shower, the cladding is to go down to the tray and to be sealed with the tray, so water can flow down the cladding into the tray.

So I have two options for the washbasin:

    - Run the cladding right down to the floor, then put the washbasin against it and seal the joint.

    - Put the washbasin against the wall. Then run the cladding from the ceiling down to the washbasin and seal to the washbasin. (There will be a vanity unit under the washbasin).

Question - which option is better, given that there will be splashing from the washbasin?

From one brochure, i got the feeling that water might get into the front part of the vertical joints between cladding panels, flowing down to the lower end of the cladding then out. If this be true, it's beter to clad down to the washbasin so the water flows to the basin, not to the floor. But the builder does not think this is going to happen anyway and things it's neater to have the cladding down to the floor and the washbasin against the cladding. And I can't seem to find that brochure.
