Building a wooden arch for stone

I'm building a stone porch on front of house and have an arch over the door. Im wanting to know how I can get the correct arch so it's inline with my steel lintel over the door and also to support the weight of the stone while building it. Has anyone any tips on how this is done.

I'm thinking maybe get some ply and level it across the opening and try and trace it. One problem I might encounter this way is will I be able to get my hand up to finish of the top curve.

Even if I do manage to get trace this line correctly, when building the arch, how can I bend the timber around so it'll hold 200mm thickness of stone above it.

    Any ideas of tips.
