Hi just wondering how I'd go about getting a dental checkup through my prsi.

I need a huge amount of dental work done so I'd like to use my prsi to see what needs to be done

    Thanks

Just go to a dentist who accepts PRSI patients and at reception they will give you a form to fill out with details such as your name, address and PPSN and it's as simple as that.

Cheers. I rang them yesterday and gave my details , she still hasn't got back to me but I found out I've 65 contributions.

    Wonder if that's enough

Hi I was at a dentist the consultation alone was 150 euro.
Can I claim the total amount 150 from my prsi ?
I have paid in for ever .
I guess I will need to complete form D1 with my dentist , is this correct ?

How much of it will i get back ?
And how would it be paid to me ?

The Dentist is on the list of approved dentists I am in my 50's and have paid in for ever,

in uderstand Prsi is what was reffered to as stamps paid in .(in the old days ).

claiming prsi does it have any negative effects ?
    thx chessguy

If you are qualified, the PRSI covers a standard check up with a participating dentist, at €150 I doubt that was a standard check up. Was it for specialist treatment like implants or cosmetic work?

You sign a form on the day of the check up and that is sent to the Dept of Social and Family Affairs, I'm not aware of any mechanism for you to claim a refund directly. Incidentally, if you were covered, it only pays €33 towards a standard check up, it does not cover consultations regarding specific specialist treatments.
