as title sugests, just wondering if any hotels or places allow 24hr access to their swimming pools anywhere in ireland?

Im trying to learn to swim and don't want loads of kids splashing about so looking for a quiet pool where I can go and don't need to worry about too many people. the closer to dub the better:cool:

Most leisure centres have adult swimming lessons and they're usually timed in the evenings when no kids are around. On a side note, I use swimming pools quite a lot and often see adults learning to swim as total novices. Nobody ever puts any pass on it, so just plough on and enjoy it. You'll be surprised how well you'll fit it with others swimmers after a few lessons

Most leisure centre/gym pools will have adult only lane swims and they will have a walking/slow lane. That's where I learned to swim and it's ideal :)

The national aquatic centre opens at 6am. I would imagine It would be pretty empty at that time bar a few die hards that compete.

Not necessarily, a lot of people like to get their exercise done early before work so you have a free evening :)

Folks on shiftwork I'd say. I think there is a 24hr gym in Dublin for that too.

I'd like someplace where I can take selfies in the pool by myself without getting bad looks.

I did a little bit of swimming a few years ago. I didn't love it to be honest but I liked being in the pool and walking around.
If your in a city/commuter area I find the worst time to go swimming was from 6.30AM - 9.00AM because that's when I found people were there to go swimming and we're in a rush apart from that most times were okay.

    Michael Stipe?

Michael had to give up the swimming! Something about the noise or something...

In all seriousness, ring up any place and explain the story and ask them what their quiet times are. It will vary quite a lot. One pool I used was attached to a hotel, so would be very busy with kids from 9am to 11am, but very quiet before 8am and surprisingly during lunchtime.

If you can find one near to work and your job is cool about this stuff, taking an hour from 12 to 1 usually works out well; everyone else is working and the lunchtime swimmers don't appear till 1ish.

Avoid the morning time OP. Based on experiences in the pool I use it's when the old people come out and they're worse than kids. Pool is like the funeral home waiting room, clogged up with them barely moving and stopping to have group conversations in the middle of the pool.
