I bought an original vu Solo box today second hand.
I flashed vix on it but have picture but have no sound.

I've tried different hdmi cables and tried a scart lead but no joy.
I've tried a black hole image and another vix image but still same.
I've tried the different options with audio button too.

I've flashed lots of boxes before and this never happened.
    Any ideas?

    It's just a solo.
I downloaded the vix image from World of satellite website so I presume if it was a clone it wouldn't have flashed?

It might have flashed and kncakered sound but was box working when you got it? they are quite old now and there was a lot of clones. can you try a hard reset, check cables, see if it has rca outputs, reflash with original image. Thats a bout it, a clone had a sticker to say where to get images.

OK. I have it working properly with a scart lead but still no joy with hdmi which still has no sound. I tried it on a different TV and still no sound on hdmi.
    Possibly hdmi port knackered?
Scart will do as it's only for a spare room. Cheers

HDMI port do stop working in boxes
Unusual that's there's picture but no sound
Just double check it's not a clone
    Pics online show the difference

Press the audio button on the VU+ remote.

Digital Downmix, AAC Downmix should be on.

You are right the image would not flash if it was a clone.

Was the sound working when you originally switched on ie before you flashed it ?

Cheers STB I've tried that already. I didn't even turn box on when I got it, I just flashed straight away

Okay. Go to system, AV Settings.

Make sure DOlby Digital/DTS Downmix is set to yes.

Under that make sure AAC downmix is set to yes.

    Turn AAC transcoding to off.

Make sure 3D sound is turned off.

    Autovolume Level off.

Bypass HDMI EDID Check is off.

Press the green button. Is the audio back ?

If not turn off and on the box at the switch at the back and let it hard boot.

    No joy.
I have a vu zero in the house too with the exact same settings which works perfectly.
Can't understand why no sound. Strange.

And the scart isnt working either ?

(At any stage did you unplug the hdmi cable and reconnect it whilst on a channel. Try it)

Have you tried this on another TV ?

Get the original image and flash that.

Great. Its the drivers on the box, not the Audio Chip.

I just edited my last post. Read it and tell me if reconnecting the hdmi cable whilst on a channel does anything sound wise.

Okay I am assuming both your TV's that you are using are by HDMI to HDMI (you are not using a DVI cable ???)

The original solos had problems with HDMI audio with some TVs.

One last thing to try is to check over webif, that the audio isnt muted (its in the left hand panel with the speaker icon - its clickable.

    TVs are all hdmi cables.
I've tried that webif and sound is up full.

Tried an original image and still the same.
Looks like I'll just use the scart option.
    Thanks everyone

Well that image should have all the updated drivers/kernels etc.

When have you tried switching the input on the TV to see if that kicks it in.

Or turning off the TV and on again.

There is an automaticvolumeadjustment plugin in the feeds under sytem plugins. I have no idea what it does.
I cant think of anything else. We have run out of options.

I've actually tried that volume plugin yesterday but nothing.
I contacted seller and he said he'll give me another one.
