I will recommend one to stay well clear of and that is the choromar apts in albuferia, stag and hen heaven but not the best with wife and kids. The albuferia sol looks like a good place and is ten minute walk from the beach in the new town

Quenta Pedra dos bicos, part of Aqua Pedra dos bicos just outside albufeira.

Don't think you'll get too many heated pools in the algarve.

Cerro mar atlantico near the old town are nice as well.

Don't go anywhere near paraiso aparthotel. They say it's a 4 star but it's a ****ing ****hole Thomas cook special with caberets every night.

Pedra dos bicos looks like a nice spot

Just back from real marina residence in Olhão. Pool on roof and in hotel next door.

    Great beaches, water warm.

Lovely place, there's a hotel which is Aqua Pedra the. The apartments in quenta which our friends stayed in. They were clean and somewhat private.

You can also get a deal with the hotel so that you can get breakfast there and the breakfast is savage.

There's a good bar across the street as well, nice little spot called Eddie's, the barman/owner Carlos if you tip him pours more vodka than coke! Really nice bloke.

It's about €5 in a taxi to the old town and there's a beach about 10 minutes walk.

    Fairly cheap as well
