Saw one in Spain flesh recently, very handsome car. I can see why Renault may baulk at bring it here and the UK after the Laguna years, but I could see this stealing sales from Hyundai/Kia and Ford quite easily. Pity we are not getting it.

I have to say that colour looks well.

Considering a Skoda Superb next year and I have to say, If this was available I'd consider it seriously. My old man has had Renaults for the last 15 years or so and his current Fluence has been bullet proof

Renault finally making desirable cars again. The interiors look really good too.

The problem is the whole saloon sector is being overtaken by the suv type motors.

Makes me sick to be honest.
Nothing against suv however I feel they are a bit of a cashcow for the manufacturers - typically charging passat money for what generally are a class behind in terms of quality.

Thats a nice looking car, do they have an estate? The Laguna seemed to sell well and seemed to have a good name for reliability so I'd be surprised if this didn't sell reasonably well. Plenty of folk inc myself avoiding the suv route at all costs

Anyone else see that it looks like a mishmash or a VM Passat, Opel Insignia and Ford Mondeo?

Genuinely not sure if you're being sarcastic here. So awful was the early Laguna 2s reputation for reliability that it effectively killed the name. Which was a pity as the Laguna 3 was actually a really decent reliable car.

On looks I love it, I'd need two years on release to buy one based on realiablility concerns.

But the clients want to pay that crazy money for bigger wheels...

Can you blame the supply for taking advantage?

No. Don't blame them at all. What annoys me is the people buying them thinking they have a large 'jeep' when in reality they have a high 2 wheel drive car with the quality of a mid range hatchback.
I know a woman who went from buying nearly near 5 series to now buying a new tucson. They must regret that choice surely.

You're presuming that anything other than the BMW badge was important on the 5 series and anything other than the new jeep (small j) is important with the Tucson

Its too like the new megane anyway.

Pity it's not being made in RHD, but the Irish market is just too small to justify the expense of developing it. It looks like a massive improvement on the Laguna, inside and out, and recent Renos are much more reliable than before.
