I have the ewes in a shed giving them a small bit of hay for the last 8 weeks

I intend to let them out tomorrow (12 August) on to good grass and let the ram in with them on September 2nd

When will I give minerals to the ewes is it now before I let them out?

I gave the ewes a dose of this last 2 years...

Its hard to know whether its snake oil or not. Part of me thinks it is, but another part of me thinks its worth the gamble.

Gave it to em twice last year, 2-3 weeks before putting the ram in, and then the day the ram when in.

Why did you have the ewes in for the last 8 weeks?

minimium of 14 days before the ram goes out

you want as many follicles growing as possible as they release the eggs so you want them to grow in as beneficial environment as possible

    1. To save grass
    2. My understanding is that you starve the ewes and 3 weeks before you let the ram in you put them on a rising plane of nuitrition

I wish I had grass for my sheep. No rain of significance here in 6 weeks.
