9 Speed rear derailleur, 8 speed shifters

    As the title suggests, will they work together. Also has an 8 speed cassette. It seems easier to find better 9 speed derailleurs than 8 speed plus they seem to be higher quality.

    I have had no problem with that combination in the past, as long as you use the same brand i.e. shimano with shimano etc. Make sure to adjust your derailleur stops to limit the travel of the rear mech.
