I proabably have a couple of SAK moderators here, if thats any good.

I wouldn't say they are top of the range, but they are not bottom of the barrel either.

It really depends on what you are looking to spend. I shot a Wildcat Whisper the other day and it's slightly quiter than the SAK, but 3x the price. I just ordered one becuase they look good. :)

To be honest I've tried Sak, WildCat, Parker Hail, A-Tec and they all seem to sound pretty much the same to me.
Parker Hail €50-60 up to WildCat €150-€180. 22LR is about as loud as a good fart, really.

The quality of the workmanship on the WildCats is second to none, but is it worth 3x the price, no, unless your like some us, "You don't need, you just want it.."

Are you a member of any club, you might get a chance to try/hear different moderators.

If you have any interest I have an Sirocco SM11 it only has max 25 rounds through it. I got it for my CZ but just prefer the look of the SAK.

As Hilux has mentioned it also comes down to what looks well on the rifle, if you have a heavy barrel a long skinny moderator looks crap on it (in my opinion), you need something a little more beefy looking.

My son has a 10/22 Stanless and a skinny parker hail looks fine on it, the SAK looks a little too big because it's a standard barrel.

The Wildcat is an over barrel moderator which looks really well on the heavy barrel and is top notch quality, but expensive as far as .22 moderators go.

I see you were replying on the thread about the Wildcat Evolution, that moderator would be too big for your 22 and to be honest complete overkill.

I have the Wildcat Evolution on my 223 and the Wildcat Whisper on my 22, CZ455 . He's a couple of picture to compare both moderators.

    ya i have an a-tec,looks a bit like the sak,comes apart in 4-5 sections for cleaning,had a sak,sound wise about the same,a-tec a bit smaller.would like a whisper,but bit to expensive for a .22 mod

The Whisper is €180 in Sportden however you can do what I done and apply for an import permit and get them off Gavin in Tannyoky Guns in Newry. £125, works out about €150 each.

He had to order one for me for the .17 but size wise it is exactly the same as the .22 only difference is the colour, the baffles are a gold colour.
