Looking for a recommendation for a good electric shower please.
I need it to heat the water.
In a previous house we had an aqualisa and I found it good.

Local Woodies just seemed to have Mira and Triton

    Any help appreciated.

    Thanks

Is it going to be a tank fed or mains fed electric shower?

Aqualisa never made good electric showers so I'm guessing that you had an aqualisa aquastream. This is a power shower rather than an electric shower. A power shower can't heat the water.

    I am not really sure.
I just want to put it in a bath and I am looking for something to heat the water

Triton t90sr is the quietest pumped electric shower on the market. I put one in my own home the day of the launch.
A power shower pumps out 10 to 20 litres per minute. An electric shower pumps out 3.5 to 4.5 litres per minute. You should make sure you are happy with the pressure from an electric shower before you buy one

I'm just back from Woodies. I asked about the Triton T90Sr there. €290!!!! believe it or not. The rrp is €280 so I'm guessing they have to sell at an inflated for a few weeks before they can claim dropping to a sale price.

My advice is stay away from Woodies till they drop their price. I think B&Q will be the same. Heatmerchants charge €265, DPL €265 & Grange Building Suppliers are €259. There are some online for €245

    Another question on this please....

What should I expect to pay for installation?
    (Modern-ish 3-bed semi-D)

The fuse-board is by the front door - so it would need to be cabled up through the box room, into the attic and back down into the bathroom.

The price I got seemed very high.

Can anyone recommend someone to install in Bray?

Depends on the make and model of the shower but 600 to 700 would be average for Dublin. This is average, others charge more. You can add 100 if attic is converted or the shower is going down stairs

Okay so the price is maybe not as high as I thought.
I was quoted 450 if I supply the shower.

Thats just over 700 all in. You should be getting 10 mm cable, a cert from the electrictrican & a proper receipt for that.
If they are registered self-employed tradesmen I find it strange to suggest that you supply the shower. They should be able to claim back 23% vat on it & charge you 13.5% as it becomes a service rather than a sale.

Yeah you don't want an amateur installing an electric appliance in your bathroom OP. Quality should be the priority over cost.

I'm a plumber myself but have to admit that the electrical end is more important. If I get my end wrong you'll have a small leak. If the electrician doesn't do his end right it's life-threatening. Good sparks is very important
