Bath Mixer not working

Hello! I was hoping for a little guidance. I have a bath mixer and neither the hot or cold tap are working. When I turn them on I can hear the water but only a drip comes out if anything. Is it as simple as replacing a washer? I disconneted the the water lines going into the mixer and both seem to be working just fine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Where did you disconnect them?

Thank you for the reply. Initially the water lines were taken off so the bath could be painted. Once that was done I re-connected them. I actually put them on backwards at first and then changed them back. At first the cold water stopped and then the hot water. Now it is just a trickle of water if anything. Below is a pic of the main water lines:

So you don't know if you have flow at the pipes as you said in post 1.
Shut off the valves disconnect the pipes and see if you get flow into a container when you turn on again.
This will tell you if it is the pipework or taps.
I suspect it is an airlock. Stick a wet vac on open connected taps to get water flowing.
Also if you have gate valves (and were hard to open and close?) perhaps the valve shafts are broken closed.
Unlucky/unlikely to happen to both at once but not impossible.
