High Court orders deportation of South African man, with his children remaining here http://jrnl.ie/2917937

    Cry me a river.
Should have had more regard to his circumstances and his kids.
    Off you go.

Like the Irish criminal in Australia that was sent back here last week. If you can't behave, out you go! Glad to see ireland are following through with this.

I imagine "Cry me a river" in the o.p. was telling. Or maybe that's just me.

    Are they though?

It would seem that we issue deportation orders and politely ask people to leave and then, well, do nothing.

Good, hopefully the start of may deportations of criminals. Too many getting a free ride at the expense of the taxpayer.

Thats voluntary deportation, i.e. the person commited a crime and rather than going to court etc took an option to go back to their home country via a deportation order.

Guards would give them a few days to get all their stuff packed etc and 9 times out of 10 they go on the run straight away so how are the guards supposed to trace them.

A few days to get thier stuff should be replaced with a paddy wagon to a holding cell and then to the airport. Can't the wife send on his stuff?

    Deported...!!!!
In other words he gets off scot-free with the crime of drug dealing.
In the USA he would serve a prison term and then be deported.

A few nights in the clink with big lonely Bubba, and Bubba all out of lube, isn't the free ride he had in mind!
