......the seller actually answers the phone.

    But I sympathise

In the market for a particular type of car (classic Mini) at the moment, and the people who I'm actually getting through too are sick to the teeth of people doing one of the following:
    • Ringing for a chat
    • Making low ball offers over the phone before seeing the car
    • Wanting to swap for some car nobody wants

So i have spoken to two people who were quite surprised to get a genuine caller wanting to come see the car, they were actually becoming reluctant to answer the phone and one had just decided to take the car down off the net as they were sick of the time wasters.

Maybe its the type of car and the money we are talking, approx €1500 to €2500 that has the punters ringing about the time they had a mini, or a fella wanting to swap his 2ltr petrol laguna, or "ill give ya €400 euro ""CASH"", and ill collect tonight" schpiels.

Just an observation from the buyers point of view.

To the sellers, genuine buyers are out there. Be patient.

I didn't even attempt to sell my Megane privately as I knew it would be a hard car to sell before you add all the sh!t you get selling any car privately. I know it is almost always cheaper overall if you sell your car private and buy your new one straight but my god it's so nice just driving your old one to the dealer dropping the key and logbook on their desk and getting your new one you don't even have to wash the car your trading in. Its just so easy.
