Can happen when you copy and paste and the fourm just converts the letters to rubbish - what did you mean OP?

weird, my question was if there's a nuss doctor in ireland? my GP didn't know one, can a mod change the title to "Nuss procedure in ireland" if not can I make a new thread (some people who know may not decipher the title)

Between the hieroglyphics in the title and the "nuss" question, I am lost, and I suspect I won't be the only one. Suggest you fix the title.

Ah yes, my friend has pigeon chest too, but its not operated on.

I have scoliosis and see a specialist in Musgrave Hospital (which does spinal and bone operations) so I am 90% sure they could do that, but its in Belfast.

I will try and message my friend and see if he knows of anywhere here that offers it.

    Thanks I appreciate your help

my reason is due to breathing difficulty & pain when exercising, not so much for the physical appearance

I think there is a dr who specializes in ravitech in dublin but that's an old method more invasive than nuss

My friend said he was offered "a procedure" (not sure which) 10 years ago somewhere in Belfast which he did not need.
Edit: He had pigeon chest so it stuck out not sucked in, I assume its a similar operation?

Does the Republic do a system where patients who need a procedure can be sent to NI for it? I know we send sick babies for heart ops to Dublin sometimes.
Your situation is not life threatening (not taking away from it) but because it is painful, impacts on you lungs and causing mobility issues then I would easily see how you could be put forward for going elsewhere?

    Good luck x

I think that's also called pectus carinatum, I'm sure they do I currently have private insurance which covers you for abroad if it's not done in ireland anyway, I will see if any dr does it in NI if not then GB

Hopefully you can get it done in NI (saves flying after surgery) - let us know how you get on :)
