As Above folks, apologies if this is the wrong section but i'm kinda helpless here.

We've just moved to Blessington and have 2 kids, ones 4 the seconds 11. Thing is we need to organize a school for them ASAP as September is fast approaching. We've seen St. Mary's which the girls seem to want to go to as kids they've gotten to know go there.

Question i have is what steps do i take, who or where do i go to so i can try get them a place in the school. Our 4 yr old will be starting in Junior infants and our eldest (11) will be 5th class as she stayed back a year previously.

Any and all help is massively appreciated as i work everyday and my partner is trying to unpack at home so between both of us we've little to no time to try search online.

Thanks for any help in Advance,
    Richie

It's very late to be trying for an infant place, especially as the schools are closed for the summer. Depending on the policy and when she turned 4 she may not get any place until next year, so check out the policy is each place.St Mary's seems to have a junior and a senior school

You might have better luck with the older child as sometimes, over the years, a child will move away and create a space.

Are you going to be living in the town itself?

You could try emailing the schools in the hope that someone is checking mail in the last few weeks of the holidays or even ringing the school the last week of August as some principals/secretaries might be in and out that week.

There is also a Church of Ireland school: Blessington 1 National School Phone: 045 865210 email: blessington1ns@gmail.com

an Educate Together Phone Number: 045 865281 email:admin.etb@gmail.com

    and a Gaelscoil

Gaelscoileanna and ET schools tend to be hugely oversubscribed with long waiting lists. so it's unlikely you will get a junior infant place in either
