    Used it about 20 years ago.

    At the time it was useful for learning*NIX. You had access to a machine that was online 24X7 and it was free for the basic services.

    what are you looking for exactly?

    Yeah, seems to be still going strong since 1987
    Mainly something I can use anywhere, learn something new, and has a bit of community about it.

    What do you think of it, and what do you find it most useful for ?

    I had a number of shell accounts over the years, most very restrictive unless you pay $$$.

    In the time of dyn-dns and home broadband or always-on connections, not to mention the privacy questions, the subscribed shell account is almost defunct, IMO. Ignoring all the dedicated servers we all rent in Iran, right?
