Reopen existing entrance

We have a house that we're looking at renovating, and am thinking about reopening an existing entrance.

There was a porch to the front of the house which was the main entrance, but in 1995 an extension was built next to it (with full PP). The porch entrance was covered over, and the main door moved to the extension.

We are thinking of reversing the process, reopening the porch door and not using the extension entrance. All of this is at the front of the house.

Where people enter the house will be moving about 10 feet to the left.

Are there provisions in planning law for reopening of entrances, or would we need to go thru the full planning process.

We will be hiring an architect prior to the project, just looking for opinions before then. Thanks

May require planning to go back to the other layout as the new planning has been implemented.

Without more detailed info, drawings, file ref etc
But your architect should be able to advise on that face to face.

Technically it will need planning. It doesn't sound like anyone would object or kick up a fuss if you didn't apply for planning as it's so minor but I still would apply for peace of mind. It sould fly through.
