Anyone know of anywhere that will fit and balance self bought tyres in south dublin or wicklow? Around sandyford preferably.

I have used http://www.acetyres.ie/ before, found them very helpful and competitive. I would usually buy from the internet and get them fitted so was pleasantly surprised at their prices.

Slightly confused by your post and exactly what you're saying - you said that you 'would usually buy from the internet' - do you mean that you bought the tyres from those guys last time because their price was good instead from from the internet?

Or did you buy from the internet and those guys fitted them for you? I bought my last set from those guys, good price all right and they're a professional lot but I would have suspected that they are not in the business of fitting tyres purchased elsewhere.

Ace tyres will do that. Independent garages usually do. Atlas for example will give you the old line of 'would you bring frozen chips to McDonalds?' Just don't bother trying them.

As an alternative there's a tyre shop at the rear of Maxol in Sandyford who'll fit and balance no problem at €15 a corner including disposal of your old tyres.

I have done both, had them fit tyres I bought on the net. €15 per tyre for fitting. Also bought tyres from them. Great service, friendly guys.

+1 for these guys, they're my local garage, good service and they won't rip you off.

Got them done in Ace after. 25 a corner which was steep. There was no budging on price and didn't have time to be trying anywhere else so just got it done. Got the bringing food to a restaurant line too.......

What's the name of the place behind Maxol for future reference? Is it this place

€25 / tyre is a rip off. From my experience most tyre shops charge around €10. I've always got mine done in Red Cow Tyres and they never batted an eye lid when I asked them to mount my tyres! Local garage charges €10 but you have to take away the old tyres yourself or pay a charge of €2 per tyre.

Should have checked with them before going. I assume most independent places do it as a cash job. His argument was €2.50 to dispose of the tyre, VAT etc. and the risk of damaging one of the pressure sensors.
