i have an old spacewagon looking to upgrade original radio and was going to put my old zenec head unit as excellent high end unit.maybe upgrade now?

if i remove led display on centre of dash and see if i can fit a 1 din unit with flip up screen i might fit it there. i have lost touch of whats good in high end head units that works.

ground zero speakers for front need another set for rear twin amps and 2 12" subs:D.

some nice chinese models on ebay but seem to have issues and might stay away. so thoughts on single din with flip up screen please.cheers

You should have room for a double din?

had another look but dont think so as its,
    radio.
    heater controls.
    under stereo box.

ok further on console removed and possible to move heater controls lower down, unsure if i could fit it above as i thought previous, looks like 2 din could be fitted.

Yep, looks like double din is the way to go.
Just double check your measurements as it probably won't be exactly double din size. Id imagine the Japanese spec model uses the same part as yours just with the heater controls moved down. From memory the opening should be slightly wider than it needs to be. There's probably adaptor kits you can buy.

yes out in halfords having a browse, those kits are for popular cars and space wagon is not one,i see new models can have android apps.omg another world now.

I would think that there's a universal JDM to double din adaptor out there. I think I had one in my Mitsubishi FTO.

you need to measure up the opening size

i had a m8 out who does installs and had the single din cage slip inside the inner part of dash upper and lower, but before i buy double din need to check heater controls will work lower down, not able to check it out as did my back in again so kneeling and twisting are out.
down in ICE in ranelagh looking to see whats available,a lovely pioneer auto android e700 ouch.
the days of the local audio fitter are long gone as another well known place in phibsboro called scansounds is now a salon.
