Vhi Swiftcare experience - not good!

I attended the vhi swiftcare clinic in Cork last Sunday week with an ankle injury. Not too impressed by the service because they seemed to want me to diagnose myself I. E. Do you want an xray etc... I'm not a Dr. , you tell me. Anyway they said it's an achilles tendinitis. Was surprised because it didn't feel like my Achilles. Told that id be back walking within a few days.

A week went by and I was still on crutches, so I pushed through the pain to make myself walk. With an Achilles injury you need to push through pain, otherwise it loses its flexibility due to scar tissue. Still no pain in my Achilles but sure thought they must be right.

I then went to the physio. She said that I'm right and my Achilles is fine. It's a tibialis posterior tendeopothy. With this injury pushing through pain causes more damage!!!

So the next day I got a letter in the post from the vhi, that I'm meant to give to my gp. It described an injury to my right foot (my right foot is fine). And it apparently happened when I was a a longitude concert in Dublin (never been), while dancing (I'm not a good dancer) and apparently it's my metatarsal that I broke (all of those are fine too). Oh and I'm comfortable in my boot(dont have one of those either). So basically theyve sent me someone else's diagnosis!

Seriously, that place is a joke. Would not go back there in a million years.

You must have been unlucky on the day you went, to happen to have a bad experience. I've been a few times and thankfully, had good experiences, saving myself a substantial wait in the A&E.

    Are there any doctors there?
