    Why do women who are athletes or beach volleyball players show their abdomens when they are active in their respective sports?

    I don't see any necessity in showing the abdomen. I'm concerned that it causes the sexualisation of women's participation in sporting activities.

    Partially to do with aerodynamics and ease of movement.

    They are athletes who work hard to reach a pinnacle of fitness and are rightly proud of their physiques. They choose what they want wear, they can wear singlets if they wish.

    It could only be accused as "sexualisation of women" if men were making rules to achieve that objective.

    Maybe it is as simple as being more feminine and the natural choice for women??
