Hi on my hols in donegal and just my luck the clutch and gearbox release bearing went. So got that fixed. Went to get car and noticed car was idling at 1500 revs. Mentioned it.said maybe it just needs a good run. That didnt solve it. Now revs are jumping up from 1500 to 2500. And very hot inside. Temp gauge at 100 mark. They ran diagnostics. Nothing came up. They tested sensors and pipes and throttle body. Nothing. They are stumped.they are getting a guy from opel garage to look at it in morning. we are panicking. Its a garage that has a decent rep in the area.
    Any ideas

Could be a lot of things to be honest.
When was the car last fully serviced?

Just a thought. What are my rights if they cant solve the problem.(They are bringing a guy over tomorrow from the opel garage to investigate)
When I collected the car I asked was everything ok and answer was yes. So I happily paid the fee. But everything is not ok clearly.

Sounds like there is a leak in the intake manifold,

Got it sorted. They missed a pipe going into the throttle body. Thankfully nothing serious

Update on this. They fitted a new clutch and release bearing. Now though ive noticed when stopping, when I push the clutch all the way down I hear a whirring noise. If I let it up about 2 inchs it stops. Its definitely coming from the clutch side and not any fan as I got the gf to repeat it while I popped the bonnet. What could it be ?

Maybe the good reputation the garage has is for something else other than fixing cars.

Might be clutch release arm malajusted or clutch bearing is noisey. do you know if they fitted genuine opel parts or was it spurious clutch kit. Sometime spurious specs are slightly different resulting in unusual problems.

Although I suspect it's not serious problem and it might go away with use. It would be better to get the garage to give it a look over.

Go back and let them have a look.
