    1. Do I need to still need to pay water charges or have they been abolished?

    The Water Services (Amendment) Bill 2016 provides for the suspension of Domestic Water Charges. Customers are liable for water charges up until the 31st of March 2016 and bills up until this date should be paid using any of our payment options here.

    2. My tenants are unregistered. Where is the liability If any now?

    Customers are liable for charges up to the end of March 2016.

    New law requires owners of dwellings to notify Irish Water of the names of the occupiers, with whom they have an agreement, and the start date of the agreement within 20 working days of it coming into effect. If the information is not provided within 20 working days, the owner is liable for water charges up to the date they do provide the information.

    3. Will I be reimbursed for the amount I was paying when I didn’t have a meter?

    Customers who had a meter installed during billing, are eligible for a rebate if their usage is shown to be less than the capped amount. A rebate is calculated following a year of monitored usage.

    4. Who do I contact to report damage done by meter installers?

    We can certainly look into this for you, if you PM the following details:

    - Name;
    - Address; and
    - Contact number.

    Alternatively, you can also call us on 1890 278 278, where a member of our team can assist you further.

    5. Will I get my money back?

    We can confirm that any decisions regarding refunds to customers will be made by the government and not by Irish Water.
