    Hi All,

Just wondering if anybody out there has done this UCD Distance Learning course?

I'm currently 3 semesters into this course. There is a wide range of modules to choose from and course content has mostly been very good. There are quite a few assignments as well as an exam for each module at the end of the semester which you have to travel to Dublin for. It's not a walk in the park and has required commitment and good time management. I have found little difference in workload/time commitment between 5 and 10 credit modules. Most lectures have provided good feedback and get back to you quickly if you have an issue. The online system is quite good, lectures are put up week by week. I tend to go through them, take notes, then do the recommend reading. There is often links to extra content such as videos/websites etc. For some modules participation/collaboration on the forum/virtual classroom sessions with fellow students has been mandatory and very active, which can be helpful, for other modules there has been no collaboration. The ability to pay per module is very good and you get full access to campus facilities such as the library which I have used a few times. So far, so good for me anyway. Let me know if you have any more specific questions about modules etc. Good luck with the course if you decide to do it.

Many thanks for the useful info, I have been accepted on the above course and have some questions, is there any chance we can have a chat by phone sometime soon as I need to select my Modules for the upcoming 1st Semester next month and could use some advice. My number is 086 2303 647. If you wish you could text me and let me know when it is suitable to call you at your convenience. If you prefer not to do this we could perhaps chat by e-mail?

    Many thanks

    Gerry

Are you still doing the UCD course, I've just started this semester with the Sustainable Energy & Environment module, would love to chat if you have the time.
