Hypothetical. , say person a has been put down for 4 training days full office hours (as have the rest of the staff leaving no one to actually work which can't happen ) now person a is working the 2 days before the training (12 hour shifts ) off for the 4 days of the training the last 2 of which are days off for bank holidays in lue and then in for another 2 days after training meaning in for 8 days in a row including the training , can person a be made go in for all the training given that the training is not industry mandatory?

What??? Any chance you'd reword that so we can figure out what's actually happening?

And I suppose to answer the general question, what does your contract say about training/training days?

Out of eight days person A is rostered for to work as well as the last 2 the middle 4 are days off 2 of which are days off as bank holiday in lue (days off because 2 bank holidays where worked ) work want said person to spend all 4 days off in a full days training none of which are mandatory for the industry

Why does it matter if the training is mandatory for the industry? Can't an employer require training in their own right? Or has the world gone mad.
From a legal point of view. An employer decides allocates an employee their holiday allowance.

Any requirement regarding a day off in leiu of a bank holiday or overtime would different requirements. Bank holiday would have statutory requirement as to when you would receive a day off, I believe within 1 month of the actual bank holiday. ( might be a week?) Again empoloyer would decide what day you are entitled to off.

Your hypothetical query is actually very simple you simply need to ensure rest break periods are being complied with. You can find these by google the Organisation of Working Time Act 1997.

It is against the charter to offer legal advice so I merely point you in the right direction because this is a hypothetical. I must say though that you seem to have a very active and specific imagination in regard to hypothetical situations. I must admit I do too but usually they involve Penelope Cruz rather than training days but that's just me.
