does anyone have any info on what is the best/suitable spray to spray ground that has been topped in the last week or so. there is everything growing (docks, Thistles, nettles, ragwort, rushes).
what is the ideal spray to use - Forefront seems to be all round but kills clover.
is there anything in a single spray that will control these bloody nuisances!!
any help is greatly appreciated as always :-)

Not that i'm aware of, mcpa would do the ragwort and rushes, ragwort pointless spraying now as the yellow flower head is out

if you want to protect your clover use a clover friendly spray on docks eg prospect

I do not think there is any individual spray that will killboth rushes and all weeds. I expect that you will need two products. i do not know whether Forefront and MCPA are compatible. Also you will need an adjuvant(a sticker ) for the rushes.Ask a Teagasc advisor or a good spray seller if both are compatible and applications rates. If you cannot get someone find a number for the sales rep of one and he will get you a technical support tele number. When you mix two products you may have to adjust dosage rate. You have another choice and that is spray the weeds now and the rushes in a months time however I be inclined to get advice

I am afraid you cannot save clover with the different weeds you have. Unless land was reseeded in last 10 years I would not worry about the clover. A field growing good grass is better than what you have at present.

Hurler and mcpa will do the job. To really hit the docks and weeds, you are going to have to forfeit the clover. The above mix will cost about 16/ acre.

    excellent, thanks for that,
being honest, i'm not too worried about the clover as it can be shook in next March /April again.
main thing is to get rid of the weeds.
all the pastures topped, finished last night, so suppose give it a fortnight to reestablish and then wipe those bad boys out!

I would not replace the clover next year. If the weed infestation is as bad as you say you will have to spray two years running. You will have to spray again for ragworth any way as it is a bienial
