Packing a wet tent?

    Hi :)

I'm going on my first cycle tour and I'm wondering about rainy days.

What I want to know is: Is it ok to pack a wet tent?

If I pack a wet tent and the sun comes out, I'll pull over and dry it out. But what if, say, it is raining for 3 days straight? Is it ok to pack and pitch a wet tent each day?

I can't see the harm as it's no different than leaving a tent out in the rain for 3 days. The problem begins when it's packed away for a length of time when wet.

In Ireland you just can't help but having to pack a wet tent away if you camp regularly.

It's OK as long as you use it or dry it next day. The longer it stays folded the bigger are the chances of growing mold or getting a strange smell. If you're going to use it every day you'll be fine, but I always try to pack my tent clean & dry to be sure nothing bad happens even if I don't use it for a month(s).
