Dunno if it's ingenious or crazy but it's a very practical solution for congested roads.
For getting through traffic jams I could see it working, trucks would be an obstacle though. https://www.google.ie/url?sa=t&source=web&cd=8&ved=0ahUKEwi7r-uXtqfOAhXkCsAKHaVJBUYQFgg7MAc&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.boredpanda.com%2Ftransit-elevated-bus-first-test-ride-qinhuangdao-china%2F&usg=AFQjCNF4qIEuBqYnWcNI_j9sa8oKL1C2Xg
Any kind of a large 4x4 would make contact, or even some cars with a high roof box

It looks like it's a tram, rather than a bus. I'd imagine there would be strict limits on the size of vehicle allowed on the roads along the route.

2.1m off the road. Can only run in roads with cars, without anything on the roof, maybe in China they can ban vans and HGVs from the road but wouldn't work anywhere else.

Having ridden through the low tunnel under Paris don't think I'd like to have that running over my head on a bike.

I do like the idea of having the tracks run over a pedestrian/cycle lane.

Just don't stand up on the pedals when it's going over your head ;)

One of the big problems I've read about is that apparently it will be impossible for them to run on bends as shown in the mockup as there are fixed wheels. The turning circle would be far to big to navigate a turn, even in a city with a grid layout and wide streets.

Are the wheels fixed? Thought they'd turn independently like the Luas.

They aren't on bogies as the cars have to go underneath. They run along the sides of the vehicle.
