Since no luck searching for forenames, I'm just trying surnames and certain parishes. I found the following baptism:

    http://search.findmypast.ie/record?id=ire%2fprs%2fbap%2f0475758

    No first name given:
    First name(s) -
    Last name Molony
    Father's first name(s) Jerry
    Father's last name Molony
    Mother's first name(s) Ellen
    Mother's last name Flyne

However, from what I understand of the format, the forename here is "Paul", correct? (I'm not sure what the letter or symbol here is between "Paul" and "Jerry" but I assume the first name is the actual forename of the baptised.)

Paul, of Jerry Molony and Ellen Flyne would be the usual format.

Initial may be "f" for fils, meaning "Paul, son of Jerry & Ellen".
