We are moving from Tullamore to Naas or Newbridge and simply cannot find a creche that will take my 2 year old without fixed days. I work as a nurse and cannot get set days. Does anyone have any advice? This can't be the end of the road.

No creche is going to give you a space with unset days. They have to roster in staff etc and generally know how many children to expect each day of the week. You turning up out of the blue someday may mean they are over ratio then. Childminder might be your best option or just take a full time place in a creche and use it as you like but you will pay the normal rate.

It's not like I would be turning up out of the blue, my current creche accepts my roster 1 month in advance and they are also full. I can't afford to pay full time creche as I only work part time and absolutely don't need full time creche. Do you know how would I find out about childminders in the areas? I don't know anybody around there.

Are you on Facebook? A lot of places have local pages like the one above. You could ask for recommendations etc from locals about what's out there with regard childminding. Not from the area so can't help unfortunately.

Try childminding.ie and you might be able to get a minder .
