Sub letting commercial premises

    Can you sublet a commercial premises without the consent of the landlord, if on the main lease agreed between landlord and tenant there is nothing stipulated about prohibiting subletting? Or nothing at all about subletting on the lease.

    Its hypothetical, studying commercial law and cant seem to find anything in relation to such a scenario on the statute.

    Despite being told not to rely on google and wikipedia they provide a good place to START. (Perhaps not Wikipedia in this case).

    dilloneustace.ie may be of some use, I din't read it but there was some impressive use of fonts and white space. (Article I can't post the link as I'm new but hint - google will help you find it! Try typing in alienation in commercial leases)

    You may also want to make use of westlaw/lexisnexis/justis if you have these available. Legal articles are invaluable in making assignments look like you spent more time on them than you spent on the toilet.
