Dimmer and Watt

Hi there, I was wondering how I would find which dimmer I should choose for a room? There is just one 100 watt bulb in it and woodies have two options, a 250 and 400 watt one. Will either of them work?

Yes. Try an electrical wholesalers though ask for the 250watt one

You need to see if the bulb is dimmable?

You don't say what type of bulb.

Also the cheaper dimmers don't save energy, they just burn it off as heat at the switch....

There is a very old bulb in it, but I might so replace it with a dimmable LED.

+1 on this. Woodies are very expensive for things like this but more importantly the quality isn't great.
