What type of hinge is needed

Attached a picture of a mirror I'm trying to hang to hide an opening.

In the image the frame around the mirror (door) is larger than the opening so to have it swing open (push outward) to prevent the extended frame catching the wall. I need a different type of hinge. Can anyone tell me what the name of this hinge would be ?

    Thanks.

Is the mirror in a frame? Depending on the weight of the mirror, perhaps cabinet hinges like above would suit. Otherwise, I think the type of hinge you are looking for is called s hidden hinge

Is the "door" in the image going to be the mirror?
Is the width of the mirror that much wider than the opening?

If so, you'll need to put the hinge outside the opening rather than inside as you have shown.

I'd suggest regular door hinges assuming there is enough room on the mirror frame to attach them correctly.
35kg is not a small weight to be hanging in this fashion.
Final suggestion, take image of the door and the mirror and bring to hardware shop and ask for advice.

Is the width of the mirror that much wider than the opening? - The Frame of the mirror is about 8cm wider than the opening each side.

No can do, the frame extends past the opening as shown in the amateur drawing i've done thus the hinge needs to somehow move the door outward as it opens or it catches of the wall and cannot open.

That's why I suggested moving the hinge to outside the opening (to the end of the mirror).

Add a couple of battens to the door opening so it can fold back against the wall

    mirror=red, hinge=yellow

    Thanks for the responses.

I would have thought a suitable hinge would be available. If I come across one I'll post it here.

A blind corner cabinet hinge might do if the overlap isnt too big, not sure how many you would have to put on to take that much weight though.

Or this type angle hinge if you dont mind seeing the hinge at the edge of the door/frame.

What are the dimensions of both the mirror and the reveal

    The mirror is this http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/00081591/

The opening is 79cm wide. The mirror is 94 cm wide.

That mirror is not meant to be hung on one side only, I think you need to reinforce the back of the frame with plywood making sure you overlap the mitred corner joints, before you try hang it.

Thanks. Any idea on the hinge ?

Thats an overhang of 75mm either side. I dont know of a hinge that would cantilever out far enough. The hinge in the picture might work if you were willing to attach the hinge to the face of the wall rather than on the inside of the frame

Take a look at the Hafele website, you may find something there.
I would think what your looking for is a parallelogram hinge

I could be wrong but I find it hard to imagine that you'll find something strong enough that either the hinge or mirror won't break straight away or deform with time.

Is putting it on a sliding top rail an option? (probably combined with strengthening the mirror).
