Advice on how to paint these exterior walls?

Hi, we recently moved to this house and I would like to spruce up the exterior. It seems to have this pebbledash/chipping effect on the exterior walls and I'm not sure exactly what to do.

Can you actually paint this or, is the best thing to try and clean it up and remove this purple discoloration?

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Would this be the stuff. Would anybody be able to recommend a spray on treatment?

    Thanks!

Wash it down - see here: Pebbledash cleaning for starters.

when using the bleach solution, start at bottom and work up, reduces streaking.
having said that I would leave it..

Thanks! I'm inclined to agree with you and just leave it. Not a fan of the old pebbledash, but just afraid that if I paint the borders its going to make the pebble dash look very grubby.
