So I just purchased a 2009 520D M Sport and was looking to see if anyone has ever updated the I drive system?

I have the CCC model but I have the CIC controller, was thinking if I can find a crashed newer model I can replace the system.

I would need the newer HD screen and the radio unit that has the system in it.

    Has anyone done this before??

My f10 is a UK import, and I looked at getting the clocks changed to km, and the second changed etc..

Too costly, and the possibility of rattles after everything is put back.

Changing out the iDrive would be a much bigger job, and could turn into a complete headache.

Have u experience at taking apart bmws?
They seem to have 3 screws where one is needed, and 6 bolts where a single wingnut would suffice.

And everything needs to be coded.... everything.

Last two times I've been at the main dealer, it spent 2hrs being recoded each time. (Jobs done under warranty.... I wasn't being charged)

Cheers for your input guys, from looking at other forums it seems to be fairly straight forward other than the coding but I have a mate that can do that.. It's just I would like to maybe talk to someone that has done it to figure out exactly what is needed.

From what I can make out its the HD screen and the I drive head unit, if it was taken out of a car that has satnav then I could activate it in mine ect..

Again a lot of the forums I have been looking at seem to be the states and its old news now! Hate having to search through hundreds of pages so like I said... Was hoping someone in Ireland has done it
