I'm an Irish teen considering options for a future career and I'm thinking about the Royal Canadian Mounted Police(RCMP) or Mounties and I have a few questions.

1)How tough is it to be selected to attend Police College?
2)How tough is it to become a Canadian Citizen/Permanent Resident?
3)What equipment/tools/firearm does an operational police officer carry and what is their uniform like?
    4)What is the salary like?
5)Is Canada a safe country to be a cop in?
    6)Cost of living in Canada?
    7)Daily life as a Mountie?
8)Daily life in the RCMP police college?
9)What college courses would help improve my chances of being selected?
10)Would it be a good idea to become a garda in Ireland first and transfer?
11)Is there any other good countries to become a cop in?
12)Is the pay for a garda going to improve?

Sorry about all the questions and thanks in advance

Why do you want to join the RCMP? What makes you a better candidate than a citizen?

The salary for a garda isnt a wage you can live on, and i want a career where i can enjoy my job and be proud of what i do but I still want to have a sufficient salary to have a family and live comfortably

Have you considered a municipal police force?

The RCMP's strict regime, intense training and strong reputation for discipline is what drew me to them in the first place, so no not really..some examples of municipal police forces?
