Any of you folks searching around for acrylic primer, tile adhesive, grout? I'm beginning the search now having bought most of my tiles from various sources. Can we do some price comparisons (without naming suppliers)?

I've the following from one supplier:
    • Ardex P51 Acrylic Primer 5 liters for €63
    • Dunlop Rapid-Set Flexible €23.00/20KG
    • Ardex Coloured FS grout €35.00/10KG

    All prices ex. VAT

I got the bulk of my tiles from one supplier, the rest with one other. The only one I know is the 5L primer which cost 65 so you shouldn't be too far out with that price.

Price a building merchant they should be a lot cheaper than a tile Store.

Knew a fella who worked in a tile store and he always said that the adhesive and grout was where they made their money.
In general once someone bought the tiles they nearly always bought the adhesive, grout and profiles with them. They never bother to shop around for price

I let the tiler supply all that. He said he can get a better price as buys 1000's of bags a year. I just picked a couple of grout colours and the edge I wanted.

If buying somewhere other than the tile supplier or tiler then be careful. If something goes wrong it could be difficult to pin the blame on the guilty party.

Somewhere in the region of 110m2 floor tile, 81m2 of wall tile. Haven't read into the coverage of the different products yet.

Any idea of the price you paid 893, or did you take the tiler at this word?

I think he charged around 1800 for the materials. Grout, trims and adhesive for 200m2 of tiling. Took him at his word as I know him. I just picked the colours!

Yea, there's comfort when you can do that, but coming to this stage of my build I'm trying not to lose the run of myself by stopping doing my due diligence.
I see the P51 primer for example at €40ish on UK websites and it's making me wonder how much more the adhesive is costing locally.
