Hi, I'm travelling to London from Dublin on Tuesday with aer lingus and was planning on using my drivers licence but cant find it and I applied for a replacement one today but won't get it on time. The only other id I have is a public services card and an expired passport. Does anyone know if the public services card is ok to use? I have checked the id requirements on the aer lingus website but I'm still unsure and have tried calling them and got no answer

I'm not sure but I'd say probably not. Try tweeting them. I've found a lot of companies are very good to get back to you on Twitter when traditional methods don't work.

Hi there, did you travel to London from Dublin with the PSC and if so did you encounter any issues/problems? I know that Aer Lingus do allow you to board a plane if you have a PSC, but I really would like to know if passport control in Dublin airport accept this as valid ID to let you back into the country.

Hi yes I got there and back using my card with aer lingus but passport control stopped me coming back and I showed him my card and he said he can't accept it that it has to be a passport. I had my expired passport with me and luckily he accepted that. I'm not sure what would have happened if I didn't have it so you probably shouldn't chance it
