Just had a look at my account to change my reg and realised that the balance on my account is gone. Apparently, if you are not a regular user of the service, they gobble up your balance in monthly charges. Yes, it is buried in the T&Cs, but what a bunch of crap having to pay an ongoing admin fee on a parking site. Wont be using those bandits again.

The whole point of Park By Text is to make life easier for people who commute daily, unless you are traveling at a minimum a few times per week it's pointless.

it is however a little harsh to charge you monthly fees.

the other side is that you never get a sticker for your windscreen. All it takes is some numpty to clamp you and you have to pay them first before they'll remove the clamp & claim back YOUR money afterwards because of their incompetence.

In any case pay parking at train/luas stations is ridiculous. Its negating one of the main reasons (cost) for taking the train/luas. Absolutely should be free parking at commuter stations.

Thanks - you are absolutely right. - not suitable for occasional traveller - pity they didn"t make that clear. You live and learn.

It's not as easy getting enough land next to a train station for everybody and then not make any revenue from it after paying significant cost of land. Where demand is low they have free parking at stations.

How much did you end up losing?

You can still prepay without extra charges without an account, but obviously that means losing out on some of the features and advantages of the service.
