Wireless speaker in living room- do you miss a standard remote?

    Hi,
I'm planning on replacing my mini hi-fi in the kitchen with either (probably) a Denon hi-fi or a wireless speaker (or a pair of wireless speakers).

Advantage of wireless speakers- simple to position 1 at either end of the room for surround stereo & they can be used in other rooms if I want.

The kitchen is rectangular so probably not that easy to wire the speakers from a hi-fi at either end of the room.

for anyone who uses a wireless speaker and who uses a smartphone as a remote do you miss a standard remote, having to unlock a smartphone and open an app everytime you want to change radio station etc.?
I know Bose do a range (Soundtouch 10, 20, 30) that have preset buttons that could be used for radio).

I know if I did make the change I wouldn't find it an issue but currently it seems like a bit of a pain. I'd like to know peoples experiences and opinions please?

Also do you miss having stereo/2 speakers spread out?

    Cheers,
    pa.
