Has anyone else received this & read it yet? Can't see a whole lot of new stuff in it, but the section on social media is pretty good.

There's one area I was interested in particularly, with regard to people under 16 giving consent. Practically speaking, we use the Fraser Guidelines, but I don't think there's any case law yet. This section reflects the Fraser Guidelines for the most part, but there's one line that I don't understand: "whether the young person's views are stable, and reflect their core values and beliefs." How would you go about assessing this, and how does it affect their ability to give consent?

I wonder how much money was spent developing this document and printing 10s of thousands of copies?

Much much less than the costs - financial and otherwise - of dealing with scenarios where practitioners act without regard to the guidance in the document.

I doubt the people acting without regard to the guidance in the document will be reading the expensive new edition or, indeed, the older edition. Money down the drain.
