Finally got my hands on these! But I'm wondering where do they fit into my routine. I've been just taking off makeup (if I'm wearing it) and cleansing my face then using the pads after a few minutes and then leaving it for a little while and then moisturising. It feels like I'm using them at the wrong time but I'm not sure. I have blackheads on my chin and nose that I'm after spending a small fortune at this stage on quick fixes so I'm really hoping for results.

That's how I use them. Take off makeup, pads and then moisturiser. Almost like a toner.

Apologies to piggyback on this one, but has anybody else found these breaking their skin out pretty badly? I don't know if it's just an initial purge of the gunk, but my normally clear skin is zit city when I use these, so I end up stopping and then trying again a few weeks later, just for the same to happen. Do I just need to power through?!

Yep power through! It'll clear up and your skin will be lovely!

I'm a week in now and they have had zero effect on my skin. I expected a huge breakout this week and nothing has happened. I'm going to keep going with them because I'm so over these blackheads

I got them and they broke me out. I've been using the Pixi glow tonic which has a higher concentration on glycolic acid (2% v 5%) and it never broke me out.

I gave the pads away, they didn't suit my skin.

lot of alcohol in the original ones which isn't good. the extreme ones in the navy tub have actually a better formula

    Which pads are you using?
The extreme ones are better as there seems to be something in the original that causes breakouts as the other poster said.

Glad I'm not the only one breaking out from these. My face seems to get worse as the week goes on. I don't think it's been this bad in a long time. Gonna try and stick with the pads and the cleanser and hope that it clears up.

It was the original ones, I've switched to the Pixi Glow Tonic and it seems to be a definite improvement! I had bought both, and was trying out the lower percentage to ease myself in but definitely prefer the Pixi stuff.

There's actually very few 'worse before it gets better' skincare ingredients. AHAs (glycolic acid), BHA (salicylic acid) and retinoids (retinol, retinaldehyde, retinoic acid and prescription retinoids) all have an ugly duckling stage to get through unfortunately.

Usually what happens in the first 3 days or so depending on strength and formulation is that you look amazing and then all the gunk is brought out.

I haven't used the Pixi Glow tonic or the Nip and Fab pads so can't comment on them in particular but the difference in performance or irritancy of them could be due to the pH (how acidic the product is) which depends on formulation. The pH of the overall solution is critical for AHA and BHA products and there's a range they should sit into. That's why products even though the have the same percentage AHA or BHA can be different beasts depending on the formulation.

You come out the other side of the purge though and it's worth it!

Edit: You don't have to use a chemical exfoliant every night in the beginning either, you can introduce it once a week in the most sensitive skin, then once every three days, every two up to every day.

13 days in and the breakout has commenced. I haven't had this many spots at one time in my whole life

I hope it works out for you Wellyd, I've only once persevered with a product that broke me after the first week and that product never stopped breaking me out 3/4 months later. It would clear up old breakouts really well but there was always new breakouts, I think I've just tempramental skin, lol
