NCT and out of date tax disc

My tax disc is out-of-date as the replacement disk was sent to the wrong address and I'm waiting for it to be returned to the tax place before it is resent to me. Would this impact at all on the car's ability to pass the NCT?

If we look at the testing manual tax disc is not mentioned as a test object so you should be fine

What's the point in getting an out of date tax disc sent out to you?
Can't you just pay you most recent car tax and have it sent to the correct address?

The replacement disk was sent to the wrong address and for the moment anyway they won't issue a new one until it is returned from the wrong address. So the only disk I now have is the one from last year.

You don't need the car to be taxed for the NCT.

Apologies, I read your message wrong.
You could always print your proof of payment as a just in case.

you can of course, but you can equally get fined for doing so. Only a small risk I'd say

If the tax is out less than one month, the chance of getting done would be less than clicking 6 numbers on the lotto.

Go to your nearest tax office and pay there and get the latest disk that you need.Wont matter if old one sent to wrong address. You don't even have to mention that. The guards will have a field day if you arrive at a checkpoint.Guards also have technology in some of their cars to scan number plates and any tax/n.c.t. issues pop up on their screen.

I don't believe that is true. The Gardaí do not have that capability
