    Hi,

I would really appreciate if someone could shed some light on this for me. I'm not very knowledgeable about tax so forgive my ignorance.
I got my P21 for last year stating I wasn't due any tax back. However, I worked part-time until November of last year, then i changed jobs and was on emergency tax until the 8th of January this year.

I was sure i would be due tax back for the Emergency tax and part-time work.

The tax office said that it all depends on whether the employer has a 52 or 53 week system and that's "probably" why i not owed any tax. This might as well be Martian to me.

    Can anyone help explain this?

    many thanks

Send me P21s and P60s and I will have a look at the calculations. I'm not sure what the tax office is talking about. Probably trying doubletalk to confuse you and get rid of you.
