Car locksmith recommendation?

Merc A150 (W169) - fault in the drivers door whereby you can pull it open (two pulls) when it is locked. The key in the fob is used (e.g. flat battery) to turn the lock and enable the door to be opened. This seems to be broken in that even when the key is withdrawn in the vertical position, the door can still be pulled open. Mercedes are recommending a full handle replacement (waiting on a quote now but they have told me it ain't going to cheap). From some googling I'm hopeful it might be something small but don't know anyone who could evaluate the problem for me.
    Any help/direction appreciated.

You can ask for local Merc indies if you tell us where you are.

These lads helped me out a few years ago with a key/immobilizer issue that baffled a couple of garages.

Found them to be a quick and reliable service.

Hi, just to close this off ...

got no joy from steveguard but went to a Merc Indy called Robbie (automotive) based in Robinhood off the Ballymount Road. Not connected to them - but I'm a happy customer. Contact is 086 <PM only>

Thanks to all who made recommendations.
