    Hi all,

    I'm looking to compile a list of situations where multi year i.e. 3-5 year fixed term contracts are accepted practice.

    The most publicly known example I can think of are professional footballers signing 5 year fixed term service contracts with premier league clubs.

    I could imagine fixed term contracts for tradesmen working on a large infrastructure project like the channel tunnel or for an entertainer committing to a multi year global tour.

    Can anyone think of other industries/professions/situations where such long fixed term contracts are commercially accepted?

    Musicians/bands signing a 4 album deal?
    Actors signing exclusively to a specific film studio for so many years (not sure if this still goes on but it once was a definite thing).
    Think if you work in Dubai/UAE in a variety of jobs then you'll be on a 2/3 year contract corresponding to length of your visa.

    Not sure if any of these correspond to the parameters you've laid out.
