Milk Bags

Having skimmed over (partly intended pun) the article it seems it is also to do with reduction of packaging. I'm very much for reduced packaging, so Id rather we could get milk bags here too. You only have to look in your green bin to see the silly amount of packaging that comes out of your weekly shop. More shockingly, a lot of it isn't even recyclable. I watched a documentary recently presented by Hugh Fernley Whittingstall, and he was highlighting a lot of things that we thought were recyclable that are not. Coffee cups namely being one of them. .

I've seen them in other countries. They inevitably lead to leaks. Nasty business.

I'd like to get half and half milk here. It's divine.

They call them bladders of milk.

    Sounds wrong.

I opened the thread again. And it made me laugh again.

Surely it's more bizarre that we buy milk packaged in cardboard boxes?

Should be in balloons really if you want it authentic.

I think it should be in a giant vat in the shop.
You can bring your own bag a fill it up.
Or use your pockets if you have no bag.

    Important thread with potential.

Did anyone read the accompanying article , there is brief mention of beer in bags.

Anyways here where I am gainfully employed we get out milk in bags , albeit in a box for our milk dispensing thingy.

    Mmmmm beer in bags.

We actually had pints of milk in bags here in the 70s or 80s (I can't remember when), but I do remember biting off the corner and squeezing the contents into my gob :)

I also seem to remember a quick succession of different carton designs and opening designs post milk bottles.
