You'll laugh when I tell you the way i do the footbath - I have been meaning to do something better for ages, but as it works and there is plenty other stuff to do it gets pushed down the priority list...

Shed gate opens into a yard. Put the footbath just to side of the gate. Park tractor beside footbath, with wheel just over enough to stop the gate opening fully, so the gate opens against tractor wheel... throw a sheet of galvanise against the tractor between the wheels to stop the sheep going under the tractor:..

That's it... Like I say, it's a half a balls of a job, but it works. two posts in the yard with a sheet between them would be better... And easier...

I should also say, I use formalin. So the ewes don't need to stand in the solution, they can just run through. Sometimes I out em through a few times, leaving em to stand in the yard for a while between each run...

We use ours in a similar way to username John. Sheep come out of the pen and footbath is the only way out...we have pallets on both sides so they have to walk through. Works well.

cormac in tuam used to do the big galvanised 1. don't see on their website now though, NB do not use copper sulphate with this. it will eat it

JFC make the best plastic ones, any coop or merchant selling their stuff would be able to order 1.

there's a company making the plastic ones over the east coast direction, AVOID they're sh1te
